2. Beef Stew (Aligarh Style)
This one is another classic that almost always used to be a part of our daawat tables growing up. It’s a thick and spicy onion based stew, perfectly paired with naan or chapati.
3. Hungarian Beef Goulash
A few days into Eid, you get tired of the traditional pulaos, biryanis and kababs. This Hungarian stew is perfect to switch things up. Combining carrots and potatoes, it also fulfils the veggie box.

Move over aloo gosht, yakhni is going to take over. This is a very traditional dish from the area where my abbu (father) comes from, where it is part of all special occasions from weddings to parties. Once you try it, I promise it will be on repeat on your menu.
8. Kabsa (Saudi Rice Dish)
With the big chunks of meat that we get on Eid, kabsa should be on the menu. What makes it unique is the addition of dried lime that adds a beautiful aroma. Serve it on a big dish and it will definitely steal the show.
9. Mother-in-Law’s Famous Beef Kababs
My mother-in-law’s beef kababs are famous in the whole family. They’re soft and juicy from the inside and crispy from the outside. I always have them in the freezer to just grab and fry whenever needed.
10. First Class Railway Curry
This curry is mildly flavored and has a delicate balance of warming spices and creaminess of coconut milk. This used to be served on the Indian railways back in the colonial era, but still remains a popular dish all over India.
