This chutney wins with its refreshing curry leaves aroma and the subtle coconut flavor. The lemon, tomato and the dried red chilies are the perfect companions to enhance those flavors.
It’s thick and chunky, perfect to be paired with:

It compliments all the popular south Indian dishes really well. My father used to like this chutney so much that whenever I made idli or sambhar, I used to make two bowls of this chutney and reserved one just for him.

- 1/4 cup curry leaves (about 15-20 leaves)
- 1 tomato
- juice of 1 lemon
- 3-4 dried red chilies
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Add everything into a blender jar (add the ingredients so that that coconut and dried chilies are at the bottom, weighed down by the tomatoes and curry leaves on top, to remain near the blade)
- Blend into a smooth mixture.
